Well honed communications pave way for pioneering gas project

When a major coal seam methane explorer and producer was seeking to become the energy provider to the Townsville power station, it turned to fowlstone. The company had enormous reserves in Queensland’s Bowen Basin but needed to overcome negative perceptions of the then fledgling industry compounded by the high profile failure of a major multinational in the region.

fowlstone helped drive a responsive, on-the-ground campaign through which the company was able to educate key stakeholders, dispel myths and build confidence.

Key steps in the program were to build a solid business case for the project and articulate the benefits it would provide to Queensland. The team then completed an extensive roadshow to engage key figures in federal, state and local government as well as the media.

fowlstone went on to support the company through a successful float and subsequent takeover.
